It’s that time of year again when we open up the order book for Christmas. A lot of people don’t start thinking about their Christmas dinner until later in the year (and who can blame them?!) but our order books are already filling and because we only sell our own stock we obviously have limited supply; we can’t just place an order with our supplier for so many turkeys in a range of sizes as some butchers would.

One of the things our customers love about us is that they can come and see the animals when they visit the farm shop. Our Bronze turkeys also have incredibly low food miles; from the day they arrive on the farm in summer, they don’t leave again until they’re collected oven-ready during Christmas week. All birds are dry hand-plucked and dressed out on the farm by ourselves, so there’s no transport or stress involved for the birds (although the same can’t necessarily be said about the stress for us at that time of year!).

This year we’ve also created an order form as a bit of a reminder of what you can order; either head over to our Facebook page (by clicking the icon at the top of our website) or pop into the shop to grab a form, return it to us and we’ll make sure we have your order made up ready for you to collect during Christmas week. And for those of you who don’t want to go down the traditional route with a turkey, how about a chicken, leg of lamb or loin of pork instead? Whichever you choose, don’t forget to order the trimmings; sausages, bacon, eggs and vegetables.
