As 2021 draws to a close, we’re entering one of our busiest times of the year here at Field Farm. This month we’ll bring the in-lamb ewes into the polytunnels ready for pregnancy scanning. They’ll stay in the warm dry polytunnels until they’ve had their lambs, so we can keep an eye on them and make sure they’re well fed and in the best condition prior to lambing.
Next, it’ll be time to prepare our Christmas chickens and turkeys. All of our poultry is prepared here on the farm, by our own hands, so the birds don’t leave the farm until they’re collected/delivered to our customers. We sold out of bronze turkeys earlier than ever this year, but we’re still taking orders for chickens, lamb and pork. You can either order to collect from the farm shop (order in person, via e-mail, telephone, Facebook or Instagram) or place an order online from our web shop and we’ll get this delivered to you on Thursday 23rd December. Additionally, if you’re ordering for collection from the farm shop then don’t forget you can pre-order organic vegetables and eggs as well to save time when you collect. Just let us know how much of each item you’d like and we’ll have these ready to collect from Wednesday 22nd.
Christmas orders will be ready to collect on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd (unless you need them earlier, in which case just let us know). Our opening hours over Christmas and the New Year are:
Wednesday 22nd 8.30am – 6pm
Thursday 23rd 8.30am – 6pm
Friday 24th to Wednesday 29th (inclusive) CLOSED
Thursday 30th 9.30am – 4pm
Friday 31st 9.30am – 1pm
Saturday 1st to Monday 3rd (inclusive) CLOSED
Re-open as normal hours from Tuesday 4th January (9.30am – 4pm)
The other important date to remember is Friday 10th December; this is the deadline for ordering meat online for delivery to you on Thursday 23rd. Any orders placed before midnight Friday 10th will be guaranteed for Christmas delivery (orders after this date will need to be collected from the farm shop). Just order from the Christmas shop on our website (please note this is a separate category to the general pork and lamb categories).
